Presidential Candidate of Nigeria Assures that Support for Cryptocurrency and Blockchain Will Contribute to Country Development
The presidential candidate of the leading opposition party in Nigeria announced its intention to support the adoption of blockchain cryptocurrency and technology. The statement was published in the local newspaper DailyPost on November 24th.
According to the data, the presidential candidate from the Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, presented his program “Get Nigeria Working Again”. It is reported that this program will be used for the development of the country in the event that Abubakar wins in the upcoming elections to be held on February 16, 2019.
According to the information published in the DailyPost, the politician claims that the cryptocurrency and the Blockchain technology will contribute to the development of the Nigerian economy.
DailyPost also reported, Abubakar noted that his party intends to promote the adoption and development of the cryptocurrency sector and the Blockchain in the country in order to unlock the potential of Nigeria and contribute to the development of the economy.
Also, Abubakar noted that effective regulation will allow maximizing the potential of the cryptocurrency sector and, accordingly, using it for the benefit of the state. He also noted that the entry of Nigeria into the cryptocurrency sphere will provide an opportunity to provide jobs and a stable income for both the country and the population.
