General Director of Sky Mining Company Hid, Taking with Himself Company Assets for a Sum of $ 35 Million
Reportedly, the general director of the Vietnamese company Sky Mining, which develops crypto-currency systems, disappeared, taking away $ 35 million that was in the company’s investment fund. The report was published in VNExpress on July 29.
According to the information provided, Le Minh Tam disappeared a week ago with all of the company’s assets.
Despite the fact that the director of the company was not found, he apologized to investors by publishing a message on his Facebook page. In the message, Tam said that the company’s profit has significantly decreased due to changes in the market.
Also, Tam said that investors can withdraw their funds at the company’s office, after which he will announce the bankruptcy of Sky Mining. But, according to VNExpress, the company’s office is closed, and all signs are removed. In addition, all mining equipment owned by the company and located in the neighboring district was removed by people “claiming to be technical workers”.
Le Minh Hie, deputy chairman of the board of Sky Mining, created a special group that will work to provide support and helps to investors who lost money. Also, the group will have to assess the losses and the value of assets.
It is reported that at the moment, Hie can not give accurate information about assets and losses, since Tam was responsible for these issues. Investors insist that the losses are about $ 35 million.
Hie said that, probably, Tam left for the US. Also, he noted:
“[The board] has reported this to the police and showed evidence that we are not guilty. We are victims too.”
It should be noted that investors also filed the relevant applications to the police, VNExpress reported.
